1- MI HISTORIA
Esta soy yo, mi nombre es Berta. He sido una apasionada del macramé desde que nací.... solo que no lo supe realmente hasta hace 9 años cuando viajaba por India y estaba rodeada de arte de macramé. Conocí a una mujer excepcional, Daria, que hacía diseños increíbles, y aceptó a enseñarme un par de cosas.
Seguí mi pasión desde entonces. Es una de esas cosas que simplemente me sientan genial. Digamos que para mi, ir al trabajo es un placer tan grande que no veo la hora de crear nuevas cosas y hacer diseños especiales para vosotros cada día.
Vivo entre Nepal y España. Y durante muchos años he vivido todos los veranos en Canadá. El Covid me hizo parar de volar a Canada... temporalmente!
Me mudé a Nepal en el 2014. Me marché de Londres (donde por aquel entonces vivía trabajando como organizadora de eventos, congresos, convenciones y ferias) para descubrir un país que me estaba inspirando.
Desde el 2016 al 2019 pasé las temporadas de verano en Canadá asistiendo a mercados artesanales y festivales especialmente en Vancouver Island (el otro paraíso que ahora puedo llamar Hogar).
Desde que el Covid llegó, me he quedado a vivir en España entendiendo que esta pandemia seria una situación que llevaría tiempo. Compré una furgoneta que he camperizado yo misma y convertido en un pequeño hogar donde semi-vivo y tengo mi estudio de macrame. My furgo me lleva a todos los mercados y festivales que estoy descubriendo en España y Andorra! Está siendo una experiencia maravillosa! llena de nuevas experiencias y toneladas de aprendizaje!
Vender en los mercados es una de mis máximas recompensas. Vender en persona es mi método preferido de venta.
Mi máxima recompensa es ver la felicidad y alegría de los clientes cuando adquieren una de mis piezas y pasa a ser algo muy especial para ellos/as. Especialmente aquellos clientes que vuelven año tras año a mis mercados y aman y apoyan lo que hago.
Esta tienda online la abrí en 2020 durante el estado de alarma en honor a todos aquellos clientes que siempre venían a verme y que debido a la situación pandémica no pudieron acceder a mi arte. Además, también dediqué esta web a todos aquellos nuevos visitantes que antes no podía contactar y que gracias al mundo de las redes sociales y la web ahora pueden acceder a mi arte.
El confinamiento me hizo reinventarme y activé redes sociales y web para llegar a todos/as vosotros/as.

1- MY STORY
This is me. My name is Berta. I have been passionate about macrame since I was born, but I didn’t really know until 9 years ago when I was travelling in India and I was surrounded by macrame art. I met a wonderful woman, Daria, that did incredible designs and she accepted to teach me a couple of things.
I followed my passion since then. One of those things that you just feel great doing. Let’s say, for me going work is such a pleasure and I can’t wait to create new things and especial creations for people every day.
I live between Nepal and Spain. And for many years I used to live in Canada in summertime. Covid made me stop from flying to Canada... temporary!
I moved to Nepal in 2014 moving from my previous life in London (where I was working as an Event Manager of congresses, conventions and exhibitions) to discover a country that was inspiring me.
Since 2016 to 2019 I have spent summer seasons in Canada attending markets and festivals especially in Vancouver Island, Canada (the other paradise land that I can now call Home).
Since Covid arrived, I remained in Spain understanding that this pandemic situation was going to last for long. I bought a van that I converted myself in a little home where I semi-live and have my macrame studio for the moment. My van takes me to all markets and festivals that I am discovering around Spain and Andorra! It has been a wonderful time so far! full of new experiences and tones of learning!
Selling in markets has been one of my best rewards. Selling in person is my favourite method of sale.
My best reward is to see the happiness and joy of the clients when they get that piece that becomes special to them. Especially those clients that keep coming back year after year to my mobile shop and love and support what I do.
I opened the online shop in 2020 during the first month of the Covid Pandemia dedicated to all those clients that used to come to see me at my markets and due to the pandemia they couldn't access to my art. Also I dedicated this website to all the new visitors that before I couldn't contact and thanks to the social media and website world now I can and the can access to my art.
The lockdown made me reinvent myself and I activated social media and website to reach all of you.

2- ARTE LENTO, CONSCIENTE Y APOYANDO AL PEQUEÑO COMERCIO
BeArt es una marca de joyería que se produce a mano, lentamente y conscientemente.
Todo lo que ves está diseñado y hecho por mí. Trato cada diseño con paciencia y amor. Doy a cada diseño tanto tiempo como es necesario. Cada pieza es única y tiene una conexión y un significado especial para mí. Cuando te llevas una joya, te llevas también un trocito de mí.
Traigo las gemas y piedras semipreciosas de Nepal personalmente (ya que paso largas temporadas ahí) y también traigo material que compro personalmente de Tailandia, España y Canadá. Los hilos los compro Brasileños! (marca Linhasita. En mi opinión, la mejor calidad para hacer micromacramé como el mío).
Trato de comprar todo en pequeños comercios y apoyar a negocios sostenibles. Con lo que mis joyas están compuestas de materiales que me han vendido negocios en los que creo y me gusta apoyar.

2- SLOW, CONCIOUS AND SUPPORTING SMALL BUSINESSES
BeArt is a Slow, Conscious, Handmade brand.
All you see is designed and handmade by me. I treat every design with patience and love. I give to every design as much time as it needs. Every piece is unique and it has a connection with something special to me. When you get a jewel, you also take with you part of me.
I bring gems, stones and crystals mainly from Nepal (I spend long seasons there). I also bring materials from Thailand, Spain and Canada. And I buy Brazilian threads (Linhasita brand. In my opinion, the best quality to do the micromacrame art that I do).
I try to buy everything from small business and support eco-friendly projects. So my jewels are made with materials coming from business that I believe on and I like to support.

3- MICROMACRAMÉ. LO QUE HAGO Y CÓMO.
Hago principalmente micromacramé. Utilizo el hilo encerado Linhasita (la mejor calidad para este tipo de joya desde mi punto de vista). Este material encerado hace que cada nudo sea tremendamente sólido y la calidad de la pieza es fuerte y extremadamente duradera. Si se mantiene bien, te durarán toda una vida sin duda!
Es lavable y no pierde color o calidad siempre y cuando no abuses de exponerla muy a menudo a agua u otros factores climatológicos extremos como altas temperaturas.
Todos los diseños, exceptuando algunos como los anillos, son completamente ajustables y para todo tipo de tallas.
El sistema de ajuste está basado en nudos correderos. Usando las llemas de tus dedos puedes deslizar los nudos para ajustar la pieza a tu talla deseada.
Utilizo diferentes materiales para mis joyas. Me encanta el bronce que le da un toque rústico a mis diseños. Pero también uso mucho la plata y algo de oro.
Utilizo gemas y piedras semipreciosas que normalmente traigo de Nepal, también a veces de Taliandia.
3- MICRO MACRAME. WHAT I DO AND HOW.
I do mostly micro macrame. Using waxed thread brand Linhasita (the best quality in the market from my point of view). This waxed material makes every knot very solid and the quality of the piece is strong and extremely long-lasting. If well maintained, these pieces are life-lasting without a doubt.
It is washable and it doesn’t lose color or quality (unless abusing from water exposure as well as other extreme and aggressive climate states like extreme heat).
Unless it is a ring, all designs (bracelets, necklaces, naked sandals, anklets, etc) are completely adjustable.
The adjusting system is based on sliding knots. Using the fingertips you can slide the sliding knots to get to the right size.
I use different materials for my jewelry. I like bronze, which gives a rustic touch to my pieces. I also use a lot silver and some gold.
I use gems, stones, and crystals that I normally buy in Nepal and Thailand when I am in that part of the world, which is often!
